The Wiitop Modchip is a new release for D2C consoles. Updating the Wii Top is as simple as running a downloadable ISO on the console much like the Wiikey range of chips. Compatibility and quality has been reporteded to be on par with the Wasabi and priced lower.

This is an inexpensive D2C chip packed full of features. Whilst the chip can be updated with a DVD/CD, the actual logic of the modchip cannot be updated like the D2PRO or ARGON.

It should however be noted that Argon and D2PRO firmwares have required updates but so far there has not been any logic updates which would require the need for a JTAG interface. So this chip is still very much suitable for D2C consoles.

The Wiitop team is still very new, so we don't know how often updates will be available or how much additional development will be put into the chip.
